I am having sexual relationships with many women. I use condom also. I checked for STDs last year.

My question is how frequently should I test for STDs?

Thanks.

Once a year would be fine if you use a condom and it is good that you use a condom to have sex. If you are having sex with multiple partners then you should be extra careful and never forget to use a condom otherwise you would end up in life taking disease with no cure so be careful and have safe sex. I hope you do not have sex with prostitutes.

Dangerboy,

Since you are sexually active, you should get tested at least once a year. You said you use condoms each time, but still it it’s a good idea to test more frequently. You have not disclosed if you are having sex with known partners or random partners. If you are visiting prostitutes regularly then, more cause for alarm as they have many sex partners besides you.

The time frame for taking an STD test varies based on the incubation period for the infection and can differ from person to person. Here is Chart which shows when to take an STD test for the most common sexually transmitted diseases.

Chlamydia:

How Long Should I Wait? 1-5 Days

The average incubation period for Chlamydia is 1 to 5 days. If you get tested before this time has elapsed, it is recommended that you test again to confirm your results once the incubation period has passed.

If I Test Positive, Do I Need to Get Retested After Treatment?

Get tested again 2 weeks after treatment to ensure that you are clear of the Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria.

Gonorrhea: 2-6 days. Get tested again 2 weeks after treatment to ensure that you are clear of the Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacteria.

Syphilis:  3-6 Weeks. Get tested again 2 weeks after treatment to ensure that you are clear of the Treponema pallidum bacteria.

Hepatitis A: 2-7 Weeks. Retesting is not necessary because Hepatitis A remains in your system for life.

Hepatitis B: 6 Weeks. Retesting is not necessary because Hepatitis B remains in your system for life.

Hepatitis C: 8-9 Weeks. Get retested after 3 months to confirm you initial test results.

Oral Herpes: 4-6 Weeks. HSV-1 remains in your system for life. If you test negative, retest after 3 months to confirm the initial result.

Genital Herpes: 4-6 Weeks. HSV-2 remains in your system for life. If you test negative, retest after 3 months to confirm the initial result.

HIV (HIV Antibody Test Method) : 1-3 Months. It is advised to retest to confirm your result. Seek treatment immediately if you test positive for HIV.

HIV (HIV RNA Test For Early Detection): 9-11 Days. It is advised to retest to confirm your result. Seek treatment immediately if you test positive for HIV.

So, you will notice that different STDs take different times to show up in the body.

Take control of your sexual health by arming yourself with knowledge. Protect yourself, avoid risky behavior, and get tested for STDs often. Preventing the transmission of diseases is the only way to decrease the number of infected people who can potentially spread diseases.

dangerboy,

Nice to hear that you are using safe sexual practices. Dont worry about others. You are doing the right thing by using condoms. This will protect you from STDs.

It is not true that only whores get STD and HIV. Anyone, who has multiple partners for sex, can be suspectible to diseases. HIV and AIDS does not make disctinction between the rich and the poor, or castes or creeds etc. Even one instance of having Sex with a contaminated parttnerr is sufficient to pass on the disease, not necessary that you have to have sex many times.

Try to educate your friends of these dangers.

Since you are a partt of this orgy, it is advisable to get yourself tested at least once in 6 months. Even cindom usage is not 100% safe as cuts on the proivate parts and mouth can transmit Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).

Knowledge is Power.
